Another Page Completed

Complete 6 pages of 16.
So another approximately 3000 stitches in 24 hours.
I didn't know that was even possible for me.
Stitched 4.5 pages in exactly one week.

But the photos are still pretty boring. A black coat, and an ear.
Well, it's a nice ear....

Monday isn't my normal day to switch projects, but I need some color.
Any Color... So time to switch...

3000 more stitches

5 of 16 pages completed.
That page was 3000 stitches, and took two really full nights of stitching.
I tried that for fun, but I wouldn't want to do that regularly.

After thinking about these full page patterns, I realized that it would be very easy to pick up the wrong page and stitch away.
The last pattern was 15 pages, this one is 16 pages. All it would take was some late night confusion, and mistaking which page is in which row, and it would really not be funny.
And with so many people stitching these patterns, you know that it has already happened to somebody.

As I was looking at my Escher patterns, I noticed that one pattern was missing a few pages.
That would be really horrible too. It's a pattern with 32 pages, and I was missing about 4 random pages. Stitching 10 pages, then finding I don't have the next page would also be a nightmare. Luckily, I had a second version of the same pattern, and it has all the pages.
But it shows you need to check, and re-check.

Bought floss and material for the next three Escher patterns. It will let me grid the pattern before I start it. I'm sure that 'Drawing Hands' will probably be the next pattern for me to stitch.

But before that happens, I want to finish up the rest of this Escher, and a few more of the WIPs that are shoved off to the side at the moment.

Four Pages Completed

4 pages of 16 completed.
I don't know whether to continue with this, or change to another WIP.
It just seems like I have so much to do on this, and maybe I could finish something else.
But does it really matter in which project you put the stitches, as long as you don't start anything new???

Long Way To Go

Continuing with Escher's - Portrait of an Engineer.
I had one page finished, and two pages started when it was last stitched.
In three days this time, I finished a page, and completed another entire page.
So 3 pages of 16 are completed now, which means I have a long way to go.
Tempting to finish stitching the black jacket, but it makes for a really dull progress photo.

MC Escher - Mosaic - Finished

Finished stitching MC Escher's - Mosaic.
Hooray!
Started October 2009, and finished May 2010, but it wasn't the only pattern being stitched.
Stitch count is 240 x 205, so 49,200 stitches total.
Stitched on 25 count lugana, one over one. Used 9 different dmc floss, from black to white, in shades of gray.
Stitched without using grid-lines. Mostly because I forgot to stitch the grid-lines before I started to stitch the pattern. Having stitched Escher once with grid-lines, and once without, I'll take the time to grid the material for future large solid patterns.

Finished design size is 9.5 x 8 inches.
Yes, it is still an odd design to stitch. You don't see this pattern in every stitching blog.
I have enjoyed stitching the Escher patterns, and love to watch the designs come to life with details.

Pattern was 15 pages, and with some effort, I could stitch a page in three days.
I do miss color after three days of grays. It's not a problem that I would have thought about when considering stitching an Escher pattern.

Watched way too many Dark Shadows episodes while trying to finish stitching this.
I read that the next 'Tim Burton - Johnny Depp' movie will be Dark Shadows, with Johnny Depp playing Barnabas Collins. I'm still in the early Barnabas section of the series, but it has been great to stitch while listening to it.

Nearly Done

It's Saturday, but the final corner isn't finished yet.
Stitching the little demon while watching old Dark Shadows episodes late at night was a little too weird. Gotta love Barnabas Collins though....
A couple of more days should finished the last two pages, and the design.
The next Escher, which has already been started, will not be so odd looking.
Having two Escher patterns started at the same time, was never a good idea for me.
It just feels never ending.
13 of 15 pages completed.

Lazy Alphabet from La-D-Da - Finished

Finished Lazy Alphabet from La-D-Da.
Stitched on Ivory 28 count jobelan, one over one with recommended dmc floss.
Finished size - 3 1/2 x 3 3/8.
Started Sunday, finished Tuesday.
Couple of small stitching changes, but nothing worth noting. Nice little pattern.

Only 3 pages to finish

Finished another page, page 10. Still have the top of page 9, and pages 4 and 5 left to stitch.
Going to finish the top of page 9, and then see if I need another break.
I'm sure that there is a whole week of stitching left to do.
Completed12 of 15 pages.

Deerfield from Goode Huswife - Finished

Goode Huswife's Deerfield finished.
Not a great photo. Finished size is 4.75 x 3.75. Flowers are suppose to be two colors, but I liked the red alone. It was nice to stitch with color. Stitched one over one, on 28 count jobelan.

It's been nice that the smaller projects have taken three days, and fit into the rotation.

Upper Corner Finished

Completed 11 pages of 15 on MC Escher's Mosaic.
Time to rotate projects. Three pages on this pattern at a time is enough. Enough to show real progress at completing the pattern, and enough to make me want to scream.
Not sure what's next, or if I just need a break of a small new pattern.

Mosaic - another page done

Completed 10 pages of 15.
It would be nice to complete that upper corner before changing projects again - so another 3 days on this one.

Escher - Mosaic continues

Finished 9 pages of 15.
Stitching a white elephant on white is like stitching a polar bear in a snowstorm on white.
Yep, it's still a weird pattern, but I'm going to finish stitching it.
