Back To The Drawer

Out of the new 7 pages that I started, I've completed 4.
Back to the drawer it will go. Hopefully, it won't be too long before it gets a few more stitches.

And I couldn't resist starting a new project. It's only 8 pages. Photo next time.
It wouldn't have been my first choice as a next project, but other things that I really want to stitch next all need to have the patterns redrawn, and added to. I'm hoping by adding a little, it will make them easier to find a frame when they are stitched. This project just had the new fabric sitting there, and enough dmc floss, and nothing to change.

I am set for winter stitching. I have all the specialty floss that I didn't know I needed, enough fabric so I have options, and enough patterns that I absolutely love and want to stitch.

A Couple Of Pages

It was time to stitch on an old project. Started the 6 pages on the right side, and I'd like to stitch the single page on the left side, to fill in the background. It's a lot of blue/black and black.
It just seems to take forever to fill in an area. Out of the six pages started, I have one completed.
Wasn't my intention to stitch on this so long, but I can't seem to get to a good place to stop.
I'd like to complete 15 of the 40 pages, but there are other things I'd like to finish. Maybe just a couple of more days on this, then back to the other projects.
Still just trying to finish projects, and not start anything new.

More Than Halfway

Eight of fifteen pages completed. More than halfway now.
This is still an amazing project to stitch. The details are all just shading.
Things come to life in the photograph that aren't visible looking at the stitched areas, especially the eyes.

Also half done redesigning an alphabet sampler. The original plan was to just adjust it enough to add the missing letters - W's, X's, I's, and a V. Now it has become a complete redesign, including the borders. The sampler stitch count at the moment is 387 x 391.

Long Dog Samplers - Scarlet Ribands - Framed

Long Dog Samplers - Scarlet Ribands finally framed.
Frame from Target for $21. Needed an odd, nearly square frame, but not square frame.
This frame is 13.5 x 14.75. It comes only in white, so the framed was painted satin black.
Stitched on 28 count white evenweave, one over one, with Weeks Dye Works - Strawberry Fields floss - using nearly 50 yards of 6 strand floss. Designs finished at 10.75 x 11.5 .

Made lots of little changes to the design, including the text. The text is now lines that Mr. Darcy says in the series 'Lost In Austen'. So now this is my 'Scarlet Ribands / Lost In Austen' sampler.
The original pattern text just doesn't match my view of the world, so personalizing it with the 'Lost In Austen' text was an option that makes the sampler reflect April - July of 2009, and I'm happy with the results.
