24 yards of floss so far

Do Bears - with 24 yards of floss so far.
It will finish slightly larger than 10 x 9.5 inches.
I love the tree with the rabbit at the base.

Debated about skipping the text at the top.
Do and Undo the Day Is Long Enough. After looking up the meaning behind the words, it has more meaning for me now. Since it's a lesson that needs to be remembered, it's getting stitched.
I think that it would have made more sense to me if it had read -
Do and Undo, The Day Is Long Enough. Didn't seem like there was room to add the comma.

Time to rotate to another UFO. Since this pattern is so fussy, I can see that I'm going to need to rotate the UFOs to get them finished. Maybe another week of stitching to finish this pattern.

Lower section complete - Do Bears

The bottom half of 'Do Bears' is complete. Used 16 yards of floss to complete the bottom sections.
I'm omitting the little fussy stitching in the band - I like the band just fine as it is.

Kingsford Sampler - Finished

Here's the Kingsford Sampler from Barrick Samplers - finished.
Changed the name at the bottom to The Pine Barrens.
Watching The Sopranos on dvd while stitching probably explains that.
Stitched with dmc floss on 28 count antique white evenweave, one over one.
Finished size is 6.5 x 4 inches.

I don't know why, but I just really wanted to stitch this pattern. I don't consider it a great pattern, but when I see it with other samplers in a photo, I always notice this pattern if it's part of the group. The floss colors are a nice combination to stitch.

Next - try to finish a few of the multipage patterns. Stitching the smaller designs has been a nice break from the larger patterns. It's just time for this break to be over.

Trudy's Flower - Finished

Finished Trudy's Flower from Elizabeth's Garden.
Stitched with dmc floss on 28 count antique white evenweave, one over one.
Finished size is 4 1/2 by 4 3/8 inches.

I learned that organizing my UFO's will make me really want to just stitch the patterns that I have and not buy anymore. I still love some of the patterns that are waiting to be finished.
I started one small pattern after Trudy's Flower, and all of my UFO's are multi-pages.
For me, out of sight, is out of mind. So the plan now is to finish the pattern that I'm working on, and then put all the UFOs on the top of the list of things to stitch.

A Little Here, A Little There

Finally stitched together the little scissors fob. It's a little smaller because the backing had a broken thread in the material, so it had to be smaller than where the break was. White silk ribbon was all that I had in my supplies. It works.

Tried to stitch 'The Gilded Cage' from Barrick. It calls for two very close reds for the flowers, bird and border. As I stitched the bird, the two different reds don't show, so it needs to just be restarted with a couple of slightly different colors. I kept the little scrap to show that the dmc floss colors really just doesn't work together.

Started Trudy's Flower from Elizabeth's Garden. Just need to finish the other half.

A little frustration here, a little bit of progress there.

Start - St. Sylvestre

Started Long Dog's St. Sylvestre.
Weeks Dye Works - Whiskey floss on 25 count black lugana.
I've stitched this pattern once before, so I'm hoping that it will stitch quickly.
This is three days of stitching and 5 yards of floss so far.
Love the patterns, hate stitching all the fussy back-stitching.
Changed the arrows so they balance. Will omit arrow area back-stitching.

I collected more floss this week, and I really like a couple of the color combinations. I'd really like to start a couple of those patterns, and then come back to this one.

Wednesday Again

It's Wednesday again, so it's my day to post a photo, and change projects again.
It still feels like this project is going to take me forever to complete, but I'll keep at it between other projects. I'm trying to complete it a motif at a time from this point forward.
And I need to check if I'm missing a leaf on that pear tree. Now where's that pattern page again...

Live Laugh Love - Finished

Live Laugh Love from Primitivebettys - Finished.
Stitched one over one, on 28 count Cameo jobelan, with charted dmc floss.
Started Saturday April 3, finished Monday April 5.
Changed a few stitches here and there.
Finished size is 6.5 x 3 inches.

A couple of odd things I noticed.

This pattern is 3 inches - Mares Eat Oats was 3.5 inches.

While putting away floss, I noticed that my new 370 floss was very close to 371 in color, and my older 370 floss was much darker. The same thing came up when stitching Pumpkins and Peacocks. When I used my old stash of floss for the peacocks, they were a very nice gray. With the new floss, they were more on a white scale than a gray scale.
Anybody else noticing this with other patterns and dmc floss??? I've learned to expect the sliding colors with the hand dyed flosses, but not dmc. I do realize that they've changed a few colors over the years, but are dmc colors shifting all the time now too???

Happy Hearts Sampler - Finished

Birds of a Feather - Happy Hearts Sampler - finished.
Changed a few things here and there. Omitted some of the initials.

Once I saw the needlepoint version of this pattern, I just preferred it over this version.
If you'd like to see that version -

For some reason it didn't occur to me to change the flower date when I started the pattern.
At some point - it was just something that needed to be finished. For me - this is finished.
