Woodland Vines - Starting to Pop

Woodland Vines after more than 10 yards of floss.
Now that it's getting some size to it, then the design itself is really starting to pop.

This is the seventh design from Ink Circles that I've stitched, and I've enjoyed stitching every one of them. All three of the Cirque patterns, Bramble and the Rose, Floral Quaker, Growth Rings, and now Woodland Vines. All stitched with whiskey floss on black.

Woodland Vines Continues

Woodland Vines continues.
This is after the first 5 yards of floss plus a little more, and two days of stitching.
Still not a fourth done yet, but getting closer.
A quick Monday photo because I know I won't get to stitch for a couple of days.

Woodland Vines - start

Well, there isn't room to put stuff away in the sewing room, so I'll just have to stitch something new...

Here's the start of 'Woodland Vines' from Tracy at Ink Circles that was in issue 64 -June 2011 of 'The Gift Of Stitching' magazine.

Using Weeks Dye Works 'Whiskey' floss, one over one, on 25 count black lugana.

I'm looking at this, and thinking this is enough.
Changed the berry things to pinkish floss. Maybe it was too much pink.
I tried to put the year on the right hand side, but it doesn't work.
I don't think a second bird would add to it.
Simpler seems better. Just this alone might be enough.
I saw it made up in the store and really liked it, so I don't know why this just seems nicer now.
Maybe I'm just ready to move on to something else.

Worked on organizing the sewing room. Found the top of the sewing table again.
Need to organize x-stitch patterns and material, and I know when I do, I'll start some other pattern. It's so hard to sort through that and not want to just start something new.

I was pleased that I got more done this week than I did in the last four weeks. But I've spent a lot of time learning to ignore things that needed to be fixed because I couldn't get it all done. I'm trying to fix things, and hoping that I'll be better organized. And at the moment, I don't have any more excuses not to get things done, and make a better life for myself.
I'm at a place in my life that I can make some major life changes, but it needs to start with lots of small changes. But then they say after somebody dies not to make major life changes, don't they. I'll start with just fixing all the things I need to fix and do, and then see where I am again.
So far the spare bedroom is 80% clean and organized. New smoke detector up and seal the windows for winter yet to do.
And the sewing room is 60% cleaned and organized, and last week they were both chaos.

I used to be organized enough that I should have done all that in a single day, but I lost that somewhere too.

Now where are those stitching patterns that I need to put away...

Little Projects

This is what I did over the weekend instead of putting all the crap back into the bedroom closet.

Rabbit Shoes?

A little more progress on the UFO, and a flipped bunny.
But I'm ready to move on to something else to stitch. It's just going to be a pattern that drags me down to stitch it.
( I like the rabbit facing this way better, but I think it looks like he has baby shoes on his front feet. Weird. )

And the UFOs return

It's time to work on the UFOs again.
Productive day on this. Stitched most of the side border, one of the four squares, and the cupid.
The last time that I worked on it was April 2010, so it's been a long time.
Used a total of 16 meters of floss to get to this point.
I'd still like to make a few large changes to this pattern, like a different alphabet, mirror some of the motifs, but I'm hoping to stitch the stuff that I'm not going to change.
Last time I was stitching this it was painfully slow, and it felt like it was going to take forever.
Getting to see some real progress on this in such a short time has been great.
Still don't know if I can keep stitching on just this, or if I'll have to rotate the UFOs till I can get at least a few of them finished. Whatever works at this point.

Thanks for all the nice comments about my last finish. I'm really glad to have it finished.
I think I bought floss to do another one, but I don't even remember which one.
Maybe someday I'll start another one. Maybe.

Page 14 of 15 Completed

Page 14 of 15 completed.
Four days to complete this page.

This pattern will be smaller than a standard sheet of paper when completed.
And I just noticed that I finished the first page of this pattern last Sept 13, 2010.
It would be really nice to finish this before Sept 13 comes around again.

Did a few things around the house over the long weekend, my excuse was that it was crazy hot.
Still gotta find a groove, and get a plan. But it's easier to decide to just watch old classic comedy movies and stitch, and become a perfectly organized person tomorrow.

Page 13 of 15 Completed

Page 13 of 15 completed.
This page was stitched in two days.
On one hand that's great and would mean that I only need to stitch for four more days to finish.
On the other hand, I've done nothing but stitch and mess with the computer.
I have to do something else other than stitch tomorrow. I really can't keep doing this, and the stuff isn't going to go away just because I'm ignoring it.

Thanks for your encouraging words about my feeling lost at the moment.
Your comments have meant more to me than you can ever know.
