Six dmc floss used to get to this point.
The interior areas are fitting and there is NO room for errors with only a single thread between design and frame lines in each area.
I am trying to think of substitute text, but not finding anything that feels that it applies to me. I will know it when I find it. But it also has to fit the space.
I am STILL enjoying stitching it. There seems to be enough different things to still be interesting.

Three corners done -
Five floss used - and well into the next floss.
Found one small pattern error of just one stitch, and then I mis-counted so there was just a bit of correction needed. They weren't hundreds of stitches or hours to fix. When I mention them, they are sometimes just a dozen stitches. I have been lucky not to be working off of an incorrect count when stitching area causing a much larger mistake. The pattern mistake made the clover just need to shift one thread to the left or right. It is a very small detail, and maybe not worth mentioning or fixing. Is it really even an error? It is not. It is more me being fussy, and trying to match the other four corners. There is also lots of backstitching detail in the large leaves in the four corner designs. I am omitting that completely by choice. I believe because of the scale of the material, I would just darken the leaves and the detail of backstitching would just become a blob. Just as on small enough material, a stitch that all the threads come from a center point - it just becomes a wad of thread and a lump. So it is all a choice.
I bought the Downton Abbey dvds that came out yesterday. I watched and stitched till I could not keep my eyes open. And I am finishing the series this morning. I went to the movies yesterday to see Paddington. Of the total of 15 people in the same showing - only one kid, about 5 years old was there. The rest of us were all older and at least 40. Cute movie. There is a very funny scene to see if you are a fan of Hugh Bonneville, that you will never see on Downton. It is very well done. I have always heard that it was hard to animate fur and hair in a believable way - I know that they have been better at it, using computers since Monsters Inc was made by Pixar. But the detail of Paddingtons fur was amazing, and on a theater screen, there was no place to hide errors. A funny thing to talk about appreciating the effort, but I do understand the effort. It is like noticing the details of a stitched piece.

I have been re-watching Downton Abbey from the beginning. When you know the story lines it is interesting to watch the details closer for stuff that you know comes up again later. In the US we are about halfway thru what the UK saw months ago. I am also trying to watch dvds I purchased but not watched yet.

I stitched a flower, and thought I had messed up, and unstitched it, only to find it was correct.
Then another triangle I moved over one thread, so I unstitched and restitched that.
I went to see the movie - Imatation Game. It was much better than I expected, and in my opinion, the guy playing the lead deserves to win the Oscar award. There is a show on Netflix called Codebreaker that is about the same subject. I had seen that before going to see the movie - but the movie was very well done.
Last fall they had $5 movies on Tuesdays, and I wished that I had gone more. As of last week, they are doing that again, but I wasn't aware of it. So I plan on going to the movies more often.

It is still a sneaky sucker to stitch. There is always an extra stitch on the left side, it is just being sure to notice where that stitch appears. For the person with OCD, this would NOT be the piece to stitch. I have TWO whole pages done now. Seventeen days, and two whole pages done of twelve.

This is also three skeins of dmc used to get to this point.
I want to change the text, but I have no clue what I will change it to. The empty box, I would like to just reverse the image of another box for that box. The bird that is in the box just seems too large. I am also not a fan of the squirrels at the bottom, so I am considering the birds at the top reversed slightly at the bottom. At the moment, I am just filling in the parts I know are staying, and that is most of it. It is still fun at this point.

Then I laughed and laughed...
It is a nice stitch, and what I am dreading is exactly why I like to stitch Long Dog designs.
I forgot to say, this is just barely over two dmc floss skeins used to get to this point.

If I have mistakes, I don't know it yet. This is closer to actual color than the other photos were. It is slightly over 13 inches across the bottom. I thought it would be 12.86 inches. Should be 12.07 tall, but now I am expecting slightly taller.

Nothing is quite what you think it will be. The left is not the same as the right. It is not a balanced or mirror image, and that is fine, but it is those little one stitch on the left but two stitches on the right that will catch me. It is NEVER the same every time. Unless it is. Ack!!!!!
And it is always just one stitch, or one row. And I do keep checking all the time, because I don't want to find that out at the end. Still just one page finished, three pages started.

Do Different from Long Dog Samplers.
On 28 count antique white, one over one, dmc 413.
I wanted something more masculine in color for the design. This is not a color I have stitched a large piece. I would call it a dark steel gray. I
The material is that package that is 20 x 27, 28 count evenweave. I paid $5.99 at some point for the evenweave, but in my stash, that could have been a long time ago. I needed 19 x 20, and most pieces are 18 x 27. But some places like Hobby Lobby or Micheals offered the prepackaged 20 x 27 piece by MCG Textiles.
I have already made an on-line purchase just hours into the new year. I then paid the credit card bill and went to mail it, and needed a car tail light bulb, so I have already been to Walmart. I hope this is not a trend for the new year. Even stitching, it is hard for me to settle and just stitch.
