One More Finished

Lizzie Kate - ABC's of Aging Artfully.
Using suggested and kitted flosses - on 28 count mushroom lugana, one over one.
And it's Finished.  Finish #8 for 2020.
Picked it back up last Friday, and it looked like the photo below.
Had the right hand side to fill in, and the centers of most of the letters still needed the white added.

I ordered the flosses for the couple of market patterns I will order.  But at the moment, they still have the floss, or most of it.  After market, they won't.  I filled in a few gaps and have a couple more things I can order with market patterns.  Then I am done adding to stash.  If I do the math, I may have finished 8 things, but after market, I will have ordered 8 new things so far this year.

Time to Change Again...

Bent Creek - Spring Row
The top one - and I'm calling it a finish.  Finish #7 for 2020.
It had just the - NOPQ letters when I picked it back up.
I tried adding the wings to the bee and the face on the bunny, it just became a lump.  But taking a photo - yeah, it looks like I forgot something.  The flowers along the vine were white, they disappeared, so I made them red.  And I don't do french knots.  So maybe they are red blobs on the vine, maybe flowers, maybe tiny ladybug babies...  since there is a ladybug on each end.
I was playing with several in the series - hence the previous row pattern below it.
Some come out better than others.  But I liked playing with the series.
 Kathy Barrick - Swan Garden.
One of my rare two over two stitches.  I filled in - the lower part is done - I'm halfway or more.
Below is where it was when I picked it back up.  I'll come back to it again at some point.  The plan is progress and stitching on stuff I have started.  Some things I can stick with and stitch on longer than others.

Quakers and more Quakers

Modern Folk Embroidery - Forget Me Not
5 of 20 pages completed.
2 of the 4 corners completed.
2 skeins of dmc floss completed.
At this point, I need a break from it.
Oh, the color is way off on this photo.
Linen and Threads - 2020 monthly Mystery Sampler.
It's PTP Gingerbread 28 jobelan or lugana with dmc 154.  One over one
This was a new start - and it was the break from the other quaker.  It took two days total to complete January and February.  It is another piece that looks very different in different lighting.  That dmc 154 is a dark purple wine color.  This will finish at under 9 inches square when done after 12 parts.

Stitches and more Stitches

Finished the second month of Family Patchwork Sampler SAL - Modern Folk Embroidery.
Yeah, I added the rest of the diamond area stitches.  It's used up one skein of dmc at this point.
Put in more stitches on this - and I am almost done with the top part.
This was my new purchase - and I started it.  It's dmc 938 on a Colour and Cotton fabric of the month called Camelot, in lugana 28 count, one over one.  The fabric is one that seems to look very different in different lighting.  I was looking for a more masculine feeling for the finished product.
Most places this was a download - but Homespun Samplar on Etsy was selling printed versions of several patterns by this designer.  I expected just single printed sheets of paper - but this is a booklet, with center staples and it was REALLY worth the maybe $2 more for the printed version.
The alphabet in this is one over one - but that means I will have to replace it since I stitch the pattern one over one.  I have lots of alphabets - it's fine, and won't get done till the end.

Playing with Colors

Finish #6 for 2020.
Plum Street Samplers - Blackbird Fraktur.  On 28 count Doubloon lugana, fancy flosses.
This is a good photo - maybe not quite this dark or golden.  Photo below is what it looked like when I picked it back up this week.  A couple changes, but mostly per the pattern.
But you can compare and see my camera is sometimes way off.
Dutch Treat Designs - Needle Small with Magic Pow'r...  A little more got added.
Blackbird Designs - Blessings Be Thine.  This was a new start.  And it's nearly done.  I have a couple more leaves, and a bird, and a bit of fill in.  This is just a - let's play with the colors - version.  I decided to try a green fabric - this is Dusty Green / Olive Green jobelan.  The pattern suggest white for the stars - but white doesn't really show up well in the normal version - I had thought it might on the green - it sucked - so tried Chalk - still awful.  So went to a gold - that gold was too harse, so ended up with this third gold - it's Colour and Cotton - Midas.  The green called for I had - but mine was more brown than green.  I wanted more of a green for the holly leaves - so picked a Weeks floss called - Holly.  The red and brown are the suggested.
I'm not really happy with the result.  But you never know till you play and try.  Camera is really making the fabric wrong - it's not quite this awful in real life.
