Filling Up The Ship

Three of six pages completed.  Comparatively Small Red Ship of Life - Ink Circles.  This has used one skein of dmc already.  If I quit at this point, it would just be another project that I have two or three pages left.

So Then There Is A New Start...

Ink Circles - Comparatively Small Red Ship of Life.  Starting 'something new' won in my head...  It's 6 pages, but the right hand side pages are 1/2 pages, so it's really 5 pages total.   And I have actually completed both of those half pages, so I only have 4 pages yet to do.  I got from top to bottom completed, and I'm working on side to side.  There are exactly 28 more stitches to the side yet, so one more inch wider from where this photo shows.  I have the other two patterns, medium and big red ships completed already.  Doing them all on the same China Pearl jobelan 28 count, one over one, using dmc 938.  The medium ship took six skeins total, this is much smaller.  But I can show you that since this one is on the same piece of fabric.  It's should measure 6.25 inches square.  It's measuring 6 inches.

I am happy just starting something new from my stash, and it will complete the series of three patterns.  At least I'm not buying more stuff.

Filling in more each day...

Long Dog Samplers - Life After Death... It's filling in... and I'm gonna skip putting in lots of the back stitching.  Not because I don't like back stitching, but I stitch most things one over one, and it just becomes a blob of thread.   I still plan to finish this, but I wanna start something else... just something new.  It's a real battle in my head, something new and fresh, and... but you just have two pages left on that, or three pages left on that other...  just wait...  finish those first...  finish three, then start one... This is exactly how I have 101 things already started.  I don't stitch on more than one thing at a time, I'd mix crap up if I did that.  ( And I probably did try that, and DID mix stuff up, so I have crossed that bridge already. )

Found It...

Death By Cross Stitch - Long Dog Samplers.  This is the final major area left, and the goal this round.  But it started with something needing to come out,  Nothing big.  Then I started to build up from the bottom left corner, and that circle tree thing was off, so had to come out, and now it's almost back.  It's 4 pattern pages, so it's not a quick finish.  Below is what it looked like when I picked it up again.  I stitched in the date - 2016 - ha ha ha....  I just needed to pause a moment from finding mistakes, but I'm going right back to it.

I still need to stitch initials by the lions.  I'd really like to get to a finish on this one this round.  I'm wanting to order something... but I know I have stash.  I wanted to get the new Long Dog, but I know I already have - Life After Death - also from Long Dog, and I'd be happy to just start that.  But I want to finish this one first.  I don't like having several Long Dogs started.  I stitched Pandemic, and finished it except the back stitching in 2021, and did The Token, and finished it in 2020.  And yet this one... it's stupidly close.  I did a lot of clean up and fill in to get it to this point last time, which was in March of 2021.  I still have 4 Pot Dickie started.

7 of 9 Pages Completed.

Ink Circles - Forests of Sumatra.  This is 7 of 9 pages completed.  It is actually much prettier than the photo.  I get to a point that might seem like I should just finish it, but I've done several pages, and at that point, it's enough.  Next time should be a finish for several things if I only have 2 or 3 pages left.  Gonna try to find Death By Cross Stitch, finding it will be the trick.

A page finish, then another that will need a restart...

Ink Circles - Forests of Sumatra.  Finished another page, so 5 of 9 pages completed now.  It will finish at just slightly smaller than a piece of paper when completed.  It's on a 32 count Colour and Cotton, it's cranberry on gray, using silk.  Below is what it looked like when I picked it back up this round.

I tried to pick up something else...

This is Love Never Fails.  I tried working on her dress, and that light color just sucks on this fabric.  Enough that I would rather just stop, and then restart this completely over again.

This is where it was when I picked it back up again.  I like the pattern, just not on this fabric.  So then I picked up the Ink Circles pattern instead.  It will get restart, but not right away.  I have so many things already started, and yet there will come a day when I just want to start SOMETHING... The other colors work, and I know that dress would KINDA work... but stitching something iffy is awful when you just cringe when you stitch it.

It goes back into the pile again...

Sampler Cove - Sirin Jaidee.  There are actually 2 birds to do yet at the bottom.  There are 9 pages total, 3 per row, and I have the top 6 pages completed.  My crappy camera really does not do this justice in a photo.  It's time to toss it back into the pile again, and pull out something else.

Love It When It Fills In

Sampler Cove - Sirin Jaidee.  It's really prettier than this.  This is the DMC floss version on black 25 count lugana, one over one.  There is an entire pheonix bird at the bottom to stitch yet...

Just as fair warning, if you use DMC, two of the yellows are really too close to see a difference.  I like the pattern enough to stitch it in the silks, and on the same fabric.  And I got the silks and fabric to do exactly that.  But I'm trying to finish this one first.  Below is what it looked like when I picked this back up again.

This before photo is a bit more color accurate.
