Halfway to Christmas

Prairie Schooler - Happy Christmas.
Added a couple of days on this.  Below is where it was when I picked it back up again.
Time to pack it up and do a random grab on something else.  I make more progress if I just work on something a few days and keep switching.

Let's Try a Bird...

Okay, a new start on something else.
A Bird's Eye View - Kathy Barrick.
On 28 count white evenweave - using called for dmc floss.  One over one.
From my stash.  I got it when it first came out, then I somehow decided I didn't really care for it all that much.  But at some point, you either decide you bought the stuff, and you should just stitch it, or you decide - crap, a waste of money.  I decided to see if I would just enjoy stitching it.  It is different from the other things I have been stitching lately.  The bird just needs that yellow section filled in.  There are three buildings around the bird - one of which is started in this photo.  It's has been okay to stitch.  I do not hate stitching it.  It will never be my favorite.  I added the photo below with the skein of floss on it - just to show the scale of what I have completed so far against something that we all know the size of.  Just so we all get to say - oh, that's tiny.  Much smaller than it looks like in the top photo.

How To Feel Clueless

What a mess.
Ink Circles - Forests of Sumatra.
So side to side is done.  To give an idea of size - when completely filled in and completed - I can hide the whole thing under a standard sheet of paper.  With room to spare.
Nine pages - 3 rows of 3.  Still just have the one page completed.
This is the almost a whole skein of silk used -It's 6 yards of 12 strand Gloriana in color #62, Cranberry.  And yeah, the color combination of red on a medium smoke gray is kinda odd.

Outlining the pages

Ink Circles - Forests of Sumatra.
The photo is pretty close to the size I need to fill in.  The tree in the bottom center is the center from side to side.   The height is just six rows short of complete.
Not everything is symmetrical, which is fine.  Even the border repeat is set to fit - and drops a stitch to do that.  I randomly hit the odd one first, or I'm sure it would have caught me.
At the moment, it's still fun.

A Page Completed

This is a couple threads added to when I picked it back up again.
Ink Circles - Forests of Sumatra.
This is where it is now.  It is nine pages, and page nine is completed.  The page six has the height completed.  Stitching in silk, on a no-name fabric of the the month.  It's gotta be a 32 count jobelan - one over one.
As long as I am stitching, and making progress on something I have already started, it doesn't really matter what I'm stitching on.  I have so many large things started, being able to say - oh, a page completed...  yeah, it seems like nothing.  But I am completing pages, and sections.  If I actually knew the number of pages I need to do - I would feel defeated.  But I don't know, so I can just say - a page completed.

A Little More Here, A Little More There

As of today...  Ink Circles - Big Red Ship of Life.
A few areas are now completed, a few areas I have a good start on completing.  A couple of places look the same, but I have added just one or two more things.

When It Just Keeps Raining...

This is where I am picking this one back up again.
Ink Circles - Big Red Ship of Life.
Yep, mine is not red...  it is dmc 938 brown.
And I think this is well into the 8th skein of floss.
It's 12.25 x 14.25 inches.  One over one, 28 count China Pearl Jobelan.
I started this Sept 12, 2014.  I am gonna admit it may have been not with the other started things.
Seeing somebody else working on theirs made me think about mine, and I really could not remember how far along it was.  The border frame and boat are done.  It's just filling in the little things.  I know I was being picky, and not liking some detail on this or that...  So I filled in the things I was fine with, and left the odd things to come back to later.  I guess now is later...  let's fill in and see how far I get.

And How Many Leaves Are There???

This is where I picked it back up at...
Renato Parolin - Houx
This is after just a couple more days on it.
My goal was to finish the bottom page.  And I sorta got there.  The leaves all have another green I need to add that goes between the fingers of each leaf.  And all the red things get a hanging thread yet.  I had done a bit of that leaf between stitching in the top photo - I know it's a pain, I do remember that.  Done with dmc floss.  No clue how many leaves there are.

Three Skeins Used

Mermaid's Folly - Courtney Collection.
This is three skeins of dmc used.
What a weird choice of where to stitch.  Around the edges of two pages, and then flipping the pages upside down to stitch from the top down, but to still be stitching up.
I can tell I'm pushing my limits for stitching on the same project.  But on the flip side, I think I have gotten more done than I expected.  It would be lovely to finish this area before stopping, but I know I'll never get that far.  Expect to see something else from the already started piles of stuff next time.

Nine Pages Completed

Mermaid's Folly - Courtney Collection.
Nine pages completed.  9 of 24.  Still on the third skein of dmc floss.
This area is 9 inches wide by 7.5 inches high.  You could cover the area with just a single sheet of paper and have room to spare.  The line of stitches up is the common stitches between pages.
