Two finishes for 2023...

First finish for 2023.  Prairie Schooler - Picnic Area.

Second finish for 2023.  Houx by Renato Parolin.  One over one, using dmc floss.

Renato Parolin - Rossi balocchi.  This was started.  Below is where it was when I picked it back up again.  There is still all the backstitching to hang all the red balls, but I want to avoid snagging it in the hoop.  It is still actually a crazy long way to get to the top.

Finish #10 and Finish #11

Sarah Spurr from Carriage House Samplings.  Used the suggested dmc flosses.  I outlined her face and arms so they didn't disappear into the fabric.  And it's lovely once I did that.  Changed the name and date to personalize it for me.  Finished size is 5 1/8 x 6 1/4 inches.  Stitched one over one on Laurel Green Lugana 28 count.  And just for the record, Laurel Green is not green at all but more like cake batter.  And it's finish #10 for 2022.

Finish #11 for 2022.  Happy Christmas from Prairie Schooler.  On 25 count Black lugana, one over one.  Changed the flosses, skipped the text, the squirrels went from red to gray.  Changed the sleigh to gray instead of green.  Measures about 4 x 5.25 inches.  I know the changes started cause the bell being the same color as the reindeer didn't seem right.  So those bright yellow houses should again be reindeer brown.  But brown houses seemed kinda drab.  But if you are seeing this and considering the colors... oh no, my colors for the red and yellow....  not the suggested colors at all.  But it IS completed now.

A 13th Finish for 2021

The 13th finish for 2021.  Prairie Schooler - Christmas Tree Farm.  Using the suggested dmc, and stitching it one over one on 28 count mushroom lugana probably.  I did screw up the sign, I made it a row too short so the word 'Tree' suddenly didn't fit right at the very final stitches.  Oh well.  It;s about the size of a postcard, and it was nice to sneak in a Christmas type finish during the holiday.

I started four Prairie Schoolers all on the same cut of fabric.  I have now finished the bird in the lower right, and the fish on the lower left.  I still have the picnic area design to do.  It still looks like that.  But it does show where the Christmas Tree Farm was in the upper left.  It's sideways, but it seems to be the only photo I have of what it looked like when I picked it up this round.  The spacing looks weird, but it allows the 3 inches of border around each design.

Another Finish for 2021

A Finish! - Prairie Schooler - All You Can Eat.  Finish #12 for 2021.  Done with the suggested colors. Below is what it looked like as I picked it back up again.

Band Sampler by Historical Sampler Company.  Below is what it looked like when I picked it back up again.  I am finishing the border flowers, finished the grape row, and the two border bands above the grape row.  Filling in the top row to get me all the way across.  I was kinda hoping for it to be the 13th finish, cause it's not my favorite, but it does get closer every time.  I picked it to stitch because it's NOT really my usual stitching project.  But I STILL picked it to stitch.  It was a choice.  It's not frustrating, it's just different.  One project like that is fine, several projects like that would not be fine.

A Couple of Smaller Finishes.

Christmas Village - Prairie Schooler.  Mostly I wanted to finish that tree line top row. I had lost my stitching mojo for a while.  Just tired all the time.

This was where I was about a year ago, although I have picked it up a few times, I couldn't stay with it more than a thread or two.  But I have been able to fill in more lately.

Sampler - Little by Little Design Co.    Finish #9 for 2021
This was where it was when I picked it back up again.
Chart - Cherry Wood Design  A new start and a finish.  Finish #10 for 2021.
Remembrance - Midsummer Night Designs.  This was a new start that I worked on at some point.

It's a long way to a finish around here...

Beloved - from A Stitcher's Hands.
Since I forgot the after photo, I went back and added more to get a photo.  Finished the first 3 pages.
Basically three more pages to go.  I think it's a 25 count gray evenweave, one over one, using Anchor black.  But it's time to put it back in the pile.  The stitch count is something like 200 by 500.
Above is was when it got picked back up.
Then, Prairie Schooler - Christmas Village.
This was the between project with Beloved before and after.  And the before photo below.

One Fish, Two Fish...

Prairie Schooler - All You Can Eat.
Book 97, chart and book name are the same.
Three fish, with two of them established at this point.

But I need to stop and deal with life things.  Nothing bad, just stuff I have let slide.
And I'm already thinking, it's after 9pm, can't I stitch just a little?  And the answer is - I probably will.  So updates will slow for a while, but I am fine, nobody is sick around me.  Nothing like that.

Small and Finished...

Prairie Schooler - Book 97 - All You Can Eat.  And this is called - Better A Small Fish.
And it's finish #18 for 2020.
Below is my four charts on one fabric to show where I picked it back up at.  It was almost done.
It's about the size of a playing card.
I then worked on filling in the "Eat" fish.  That chart is double the size of this finish, and more solidly filled in.  Gonna switch and pick up the new monthly section of another chart.

Can't Count...

Pelican - Courtney Collection.
Last time I said this was in the hoop again and that I had 7 pages left to do.
I can't count.  I had 9 pages left to do.  Not 7.
So it's 20 pages total, I had 11 pages done, as of last May.
I did the bird's eye page, and then the page below that, and the next page down too.
Three pages done now, so I can say - NOW I have 6 pages left to do.
And the right side half is now complete.  This is all based on me counting, meaning it's probably wrong.  And below is what it looked like when I picked it back up again.
And I tossed in a few hours on a new start of an old pattern.
Prairie Schooler - Harvest Time.  Doing the Village pattern.
It's on 28 count Ivory jobelan, one over one, dmc floss.
I like all these silly village versions.  Stitching this one, and the bigger Christmas version I also have started, hopefully will get it out of my system.  They are not all that big - but they are time consuming little suckers.  This was two days of working on it, and back in the bag it went.  A hefty gallon plastic bag, not a fancy bag.
Since I talked about blood donations last time, I will add on that I went last Monday to give whole blood.  But once again, kinda weird.  They have been posting they wanted type O donors for months.  Sometimes with a second blood type they also wanted.  Last weekend they extended their hours on a couple days to allow more donors.  I went on Monday just to get it over with, rather than wait till Friday, since I have anxiety.  What he told me was - the distribution processing center had called and said - they were OUT of type O blood.  Completely out.  This is not good.  So I asked how the day was going so far?  He said out of 26 donors, about 20 had been type O so far that day.
And you might think - oh, they have sent it off to weather problem areas.  I don't think so because they have been asking for extra donors for months and months on their home web pages.  Hours later I was telling this to a friend, and I decided to look up his area, he is a 6 hour drive - a totally different blood distribution service area.  The web page for his site opened up saying their supply was critically low.  So that was interesting, cause it is not just one area.  And I am not part of the weather area.  Mostly it means - try not to do something that you need blood or blood products.  They might be harder to get than you know, and if you can donate - you might wanna consider it.  It's nine minutes to have a needle in your arm.  I try to think of it as - I'd rather be on the giving end because I am healthy, than be the needing blood end of the needle.

Fish and Christmas ???

Prairie Schooler continued for a while.
There was something else for a few days, but not worth showing.
Then I went back to a previous start - Prairie Schooler - Christmas Village.
Playing on the right side this round. All I had was the lower right tree on the right side.
The border and the left side little bit and that one right hand tree was round one.
Honestly, it all looks like it should just go so quickly.  And it doesn't.
This one is 6 x 7 3/4 inches - border to border.  Smaller than a sheet of paper.
And it's obvious that I get bored before I get a whole building done.

A Finish - Progress - New Starts

An old kit, but new to me.  Little House Needleworks - Giving Thanks ( w/ threads ).
Stitched on a scrap of 28 count evenweave jobelan.
A start and a finish.  Finish #13 for 2019.
Above is where I was when I picked back up - Love Never Fails.
Worked on it just a bit, finished the heart, a bit on the man, a bit on the back ground of the diamonds under his feet.  Below is after and where is stands now.
I picked up some older charts including an older Prairie Schooler.
The patterns all wanted the same fabric, and so I decided to start four patterns, all Prairie Schoolers from two charts.  So if I get bored, I just turn the fabric and flip the page to the other pattern.  It is just something weird or fun to try.  They are each postcard or half sheet of paper size when finished.  This is just a few days on it so far, and a little bit started on each pattern.  Two are right side up, two are sideways cause that is the way they fit to use the fabric with less waste.  So far, kinda fun.

Halfway to Christmas

Prairie Schooler - Happy Christmas.
Added a couple of days on this.  Below is where it was when I picked it back up again.
Time to pack it up and do a random grab on something else.  I make more progress if I just work on something a few days and keep switching.
